Producer/DJ, Dev79, effortlessly weaves elements of grime, garage, hip hop, dubstep, footwork, among a plethora of other styles, with Philadelphia's cultural and musical history, into a tapestry of urban bass music that he, alongside compatriot, Starkey (Ninja Tune, Planet Mu), has dubbed "Street Bass." This sound is a worldwide movement encompassed by the output of their labels, Seclusiasis and Slit Jockey Records, which strive to bring forward thinking bleeding edge music to the masses. Dev79 has worked with some of the heaviest hitters in modern electronic music, having remixed and/or been remixed by the likes of B. Rich, Egyptrixx, DZ, Herve, Raffertie, Mele, Mestizo, Thrills, Edu K, Starkey, Pacheko, and countless others. Dev79 has been featured in publications such as XLR8R, Mishka, FACT, Frank151, Trash Menagerie, Knowledge and Discobelle.
